If you are travelling anywhere this summer with kids you might like to look at our packing for a road trip list.

First things first do you have tickets and passports because without them you’re not going anywhere

Money
Do you have debit and or credit cards that will work in your destination without huge charges?
Do you have currency available for airport trollies and parking meters when you arrive and can you access more cash as and when you need it. Will there be an ATM when you arrive?

Communication
Speak to your phone provider and check if your calls, text and data will travel with you or if you’ll be put on roaming charges?

Lock your Sim.

Even if your handset is locked, it’s still possible for those with light fingers to remove the Sim and use it in another phone, potentially racking up huge bills on your contract. To prevent this you can lock your Sim with a PIN which will be required whenever it’s put into a new device.

Travel Insurance
We get ours through our bank and it comes with free airport lounge passes so I have printed out my lounge pass card and put in into the envelope for that day along with the directions to the carpark.

Tickets
My system is to write dates on envelopes and put tickets for each day into those envelopes so you just need to pick up that day’s envelope each day.

Medication

Order repeat prescriptions ahead of time and don’t forget to take the paperwork to porve that the medeications have been prescribed for you or your family.
